In our District we are fortunate to have generally good conditions for star spotting with little light pollution.
CPRE is conducting its annual survey to allow measurement of dark skies to be recorded across the country. This is a good opportunity to get our District on the map.
Taking part is really easy - on a clear night between 6 and 14 February, when it is really dark just find the constellation of Orion and record how many stars you can see. Orion is one of the most recognisable in the winter sky with the 3 stars that form Orion's belt being quite easy to spot.
Full instructions and the form to record your results are on the CPRE website
