We want Scouts to go the extra mile too. Together, young people, volunteers, parents and carers are going to Hike to the Moon. If we all hike just one mile each – about 2,000 steps or 20 minutes walking on the spot – then together, we can complete the incredible 240,000 mile journey. To hit your one mile target, you can hike around your home or your garden (if you’ve got one) but please be safe and stick within government advice – you don’t need to leave your homes to be part of this.

Back in April we told you about the national appeal to hike to the moon. Scout HQ has updated us on the money raised - Thanks to Scouts all over the UK, we’ve hiked not just the 240,000 miles to the moon but the incredible 440,000-mile journey to the moon and back! We’ve raised over £340,000, with another £32,000 raised through badge sales, and with the government matching the funds, we’ll contribute over £700,000 to BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief.
Well done to all that took part
